Welcome to Social Courage!
06/20/2020
Social courage means not conforming to the expectations of others, but rather expressing opinions and preferences even if it means risking social disapproval.
This non-profit organization aims to empower social minorities, or anyone experiencing social anxiety, in expressing themselves with pride, love, and hope.
Inspired to accomplish so, we provide a free online peer counseling service, where you can open up to one of our counselors and discuss any experiences or difficulties.

Social Anxiety
- Social anxiety disorder is the third most frequent mental health issue in the world
- An estimate of 7% of the world's entire population has social anxiety, while nearly 13% of all people experience it at least once in their lifetimes
- Situations that trigger social anxiety are interviews, dates, parties, public speaking, etc.
- Generalized social anxiety leads a person towards avoiding most of such situations due to a fear of negative judgment and social disapproval
- People with non-generalized social anxiety tend to experience it only in specific situations, such as a meeting or while ordering in line
- Fortunately, social anxiety is treatable through cognitive behavioral therapy, which is where Social Courage plays a crucial role in strengthening your confidence and equipping you with the skills necessary for overcoming situations that bother you
Peer counseling

- We aspire to listen to each and every one of your experiences or difficulties while aiming to help you find the answers to some of your problems
- We hope to spark empowerment among such individuals and encourage them in achieving their dreams, goals, and personal recovery
- Our mission remains to lessen the ramifications of social minorities by making our peer counseling service free and accessible to everyone
